Hi,
I'm very proud to annunce the first beta release of rjed, rjed-0.8.4.
Rjed is a small, fast, highly configurable and reliable remote jed
control. Using the same concept of emacs / emacs-client, rjed can be
used as external editor of other programs, those that supports such
feature.
A new concept introduced in rjed is the 'tagname'. This permits to
have several rjed processes running concurrently without interfering
between them. That is, it is guaranteed that commands sent to each
one won't be intercepted by the other.
Rjed is the author's preferred external editor used in conjunction
with source-navigator: it is successfully used with it, at home and
at work.
Current rjed status is beta, although it is quite stable and usable.
Please feel free to find more information about it at
http://rjed.sf.net (It's a really poor web page, but useful :)
More accurate installation instructions on the box. A little patch
must be applied to jed in order to use rjed.
As usual, comments and suggestions are always welcome. I hope you
like rjed.
NOTE: currently, rjed runs only under Linux and with jed-B0.99-15.
Porting it to other plattforms will be taken into account in the
future, when it reaches version 1.0.0 (or later). It would be quite
easy to port it to other unices. Contributions welcome.
Later,
---
Francesc Rocher
