Jed on Mac (OS X)

I am looking for a lightweight texteditor to use with
TeX and for programming and which runs on Windows,
Mac (OS X) and, for future use Unixes. Jed looks
promising, but the docs say nothing about Mac. Does
anybody have any experience running Jed on Macs?
