Hi!
I'm new to the list. Is there also a FAQ somewhere on the net?
I've got a problem with jed and assume that there might be already an
answer. :-)
I'm using jed on Linux. At the moment mostly in gnome-terminal 2, sometimes
via ssh on remote machines.
Enter a text like this in jed:
Test
Test
Test
Indention is two tabs. Beginning with the second line, jed does the
indention automatically. That's fine, I like it.
Now mark the lines and paste the text below the existing text or in an
other jed window.
You get:
Test
Test
Test
Now move the cursor through the pasted text. As you can see the Tabs have
become spaces. Not good, but I assume that this is a general problem of the
X11 clipboard. The real problem is the automatic indention. In this case
it's totally counterproductive. I assume that jed can not distinguish
between pasted and keyed in text, so it indents every line.
How can this problem be solved? Is there a way to disable the autoindent in
.jedrc? But what can be done when I want to keep autoindent? I really like
it, but the clipboard is almost unusable for me at the moment.
Related problem: cut & paste is not possible when using enable_xmouse()
which is very comfortable for using the menus!
see you,
boris
