Hi,
There was a very useful and nice feature in jed:
it could show special characters (0x00 -- 0x1F and some above 0x80)
as ^<LETTER>.
But in a new version this feature disappeared :(
May be it is not jed's fault, but system dependent (we also have moved
from RH6.1 to RH9.0).
This feature allowed to use jed as a system editor as it revealed
many mysteries in files.
Older versions:
jed B0.99.9
slang 1.3.9
glibc 2.1.2
Newer versions:
jed 0.99.15
slang 1.4.5
glibc 2.3.2
Any help is appreciated.
