From the changelog in the latest JED snapshot:

53. src/Makefile.in: Add the appropriate linker options to LDFLAGS to
    enable global symbols to be exported.  Otherwise, importing a
    module could fail.

This means that it's now possible to make S-Lang modules that call global
JED functions.  I've started working on a module that will enable keyword
completion from the syntax tables.  It's not nearly finished, but it's so
cool I've uploaded a snapshot to
