A little followup.  I ran jed under the gdb debugger.  It seg
faults on line 406 in main.c:

    *tt_Blink_Mode = 0;

But tt_Blink_Mode contains zero.  It looks to me like there is another,
new definition of tt_Blink_Mode in xterm.c.  Perhaps this is masking the
global definition in display.h.
