jed on (k)ubuntu ?

Hi,

I just installed kubuntu and on that jed-B0.99.17-111U.
But that seams not to follow the standard-debian jed setup.
The /etc/jed.conf and jed-init.d is there, but it is not executed, as
far as I can see.

Is this a bug or feature ?
