If I loaded a file using jed -n, no problems at all. Beginning to narrow
things down a bit, I eliminated flyspell and its pieces from the .jedrc
and it worked, as well. Then I did a comparison between a Jed installation
that is known to be working great (with Dictd and Moby-Thesaurus working
like a champ, no less) and the problem box. There are a LOT of the ispell
and other functions whose file sizes do not match. HINT: The box that
works so great was just recently updated to the Jed modes, so that I am
running the latest-and-greatest.
I think I'll do that with the problem box and then report my findings.
For the time being, I'll leave it run without flyspell, as that seems to
have cured the problem until I have a chance to update.
Thanks for the help, everyone!
