- Subject: how to find out the CURRENT_KEY

Dear John and Jed users,
in a "before key hook" I want to check which key was just pressed.
I tried several options but non of them seem straightforward:
* LASTKEY is not updated before the "before key hook" is called.
* LAST_CHAR is updated but doesnot help for a keystring comprising more than
one character.
* the `fun' argument passed to the key or
the CURRENT_KBD_COMMAND variable:
both are up to date but guessing the pressed key (with `which_key') is
ambiguous if there are several keys bound to `fun'.
Did I miss something?
Günter
