- Subject: registers, programmatically

Dear fellow jedders,
I'd like to pre-fill a number of registers programatically upon a mode's start hook.
For instance, my jingo_mode_hook in .jedrc would have a line such as:
Register_Buffer_Arrays [83] = "a long string that I constantly need";
And I could then call register "s" (115-32=83, right?) and see the said long string inserted...
Sounds easy enough but I'm obviously not doing this properly with Register_Buffer_Arrays because it doesn't work and (the very cool) register_mode shows no registers being loaded in that way.
Could anyone kindly point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance and regards to all,
Alain
