You have to choose one or the other. If you enable DFA syntax
highlighting for a buffer or mode, then jed will not use its
standard/default non-DFA highlighting code. If you point me to the
bit of text in dfa.txt that suggests that the two will work together,
then I will attempt clarify the help file on this point.
