I took this code out of jedrc and made the tweak in lib/perl.sl -- now
everyting works perfectly, and my indentation works normally. I prefer
this to be a global change anyways.
I didn't have a perl_mode_hook in my jedrc, but there was one in perl.sl.
I'm running 0.99.16 (unpatched)
