Are you saying that you can copy 'ü' from xjed to an xterm, but not
something like 'u'?
In jed's changelog file, the very first change after 0.99-18 was
released is this:
1. src/syntax.c: If a multibyte character was prefixed by a character
with a "quote" character syntax, then the multibyte character was
not being properly displayed.
Perhaps this is what you are seeing. Does the problem go away if you
use 0.99-19?
