Ubuntu 8.10, text console. But I have now tried it
on Ubuntu 7.10 and it works. With one exception:

	rgrep -D * > d_result.tmp

gives

	grep: unknown devices method

while the same without redirection to a file also works.

The lesson seems to be: keep you fingers off Ubuntu
in the first 3 months after any release.
