- Subject: [Jed-users-l] isearch_forward match highlighting

Hi,
I have used Emacs since 1993. In 2009 I also started using Jed for
some tasks. I started using Jed because I was having difficulty
customizing Emacs - Emacs was just too large and complicated, and I
preferred S-Lang over Lisp.
When using Jed, I often miss the following feature of Emacs:
When doing an isearch_forward: in Emacs all matches on the screen will
be highlighted, where as in Jed only the single next match will be
highlighted. I like being able to quickly see all the matches at a
glance. (In Emacs, there is a slight pause after I stop typing before
Emacs performs the mass highlighting.)
My questions are:
1) Has a feature like this ever been considered for Jed?
2) How hard would it be for a competent C programmer to add this feature to Jed?
Thanks!
-Parke
