[Jed-users-l] global_mode_hook, describe_bindings, and the scratch buffer

Hi,

It appears that (as of Jed 0.99.19 from Ubuntu 13.04):

1) When you run "jed" (with no arguments) and are put in the *scratch*
buffer, global_mode_hook has not been run, and therefore your key
bindings have not been installed.

2) describe_bindings always runs global_mode_hook. Therefore
describe_bindings may cause the current bindings to be
destroyed/overwritten.

Has either of these behaviors changed since 0.99.19?

I would consider 1 to be a bug, and 2 is certainly surprising.
