What version did you compile? What version of the slang library are
you linking against? What does
ldd /path/to/xjed
show? You might try running xjed with strace:
strace -o /tmp/xjed.xtrace /path/to/xjed
Feel free to send /tmp/xjed.xtrace to me.

There is no gtk version. The code includes some gtk-specific patches
that someone sent me several years ago. I integrated the patches into
the source code but never found the time to get it to work.
