apropos does not show delete_window function when entering either window

As Manfred pointed out, delete_window is a so-called internal
function, which apropos does not show. See the jed_faq.txt file for a
description of internal functions. You should be able to access this
file from jed's help menu: Help->Browse Docs
I will add support for internal functions to jed's apropose function
in an upcoming snapshot.
Thanks John. As a user of jed rather than someone who has added code
and has thus become familiar with the internals of jed the distinction
between internal functions and regular functions and the way they
behave differently in some situations has always been a stumbling block
for me. Elimination of that distinction will make it much easier for us
mere users (at least in relation to jed) to find and use the
capabilities of jed.
I am using ubuntu 14.04 and the latest version they have of jed
.99.12.2-1 or however the numbering works.
The current development snapshot is pre0.99.20-113. It is my goal to
release 0.99-20 this year.
Thanks,
--John
