Thank you Captain for all these rabbit holes :)

First, let me say that both machines use the same setup. In both of them I have installed manjaro xfce (though at different times - but both are up-to-date), and in both of them I am using openbox.

Next, xjed is not really a GTK program, and I don't think it cares much about GNOME or XFCE infrastructure libs like dconf etc.

Also, my problem doesn't seem to be related to Wayland or HDPI...
