Have you written this fix? I'm using Debian's mutt-utf8 package, which
links against a version of Slang patched for utf8 support (since there
is no such patch yet for ncurses); this problem is making it rather
inconvenient to use as no meta-keys work at all.
If you don't want to release a version for this alone, the change can
be passed off to the Debian package so mutt-utf8 can work.
