They are not similar in the video driver code contained in slvideo.c.
I have not booted into windows for quite a while, but I do know that
when I did, smgtest worked. I can easily imagine smgtest working for
windows but failing for OS/2.

If it causes a SEGV, simply running it in the debugger and finding
out where the SEGV occurs might be useful.
