Thanks Paul.

Until the release, I am going keep the slang tarfile updated with the
latest patches.  For example, I just made slang-pre2-r8.2.tar.gz
available with your patch and the patch for the bug that Dino
reported.  If another patch is required, then the tar file will be
updated to slang-pre2-r8.3.tar.gz, and so on.
