Anyone out there?

Hi, my name is Jason and I'm new to the list. I am going to be learning 
assembly language by reading the book by Jeff Duntemann, Assembly Language 
Step by Step.  I am using the first edition book and the JED program from his 
website. Is that program up to date or should I use the one on the website 
for this listserv? It is the first programming language I am going to attempt 
to learn. Incidently, I tried to download the program offered on the Jed 
homepage, but when I tried to open the program it said that I needed the s-
lang thingy, but when I downloaded the s-lang it still came up with the same 
error message. What did I do wrong? Please elaborate as I am a newbie to all 
this. Thanks for any help you can give me...
