John, I don't know if you're still taking requests.  But if so, I'd
like to recommend the following:

    - Robert Lillack's 'line numbers & visible tabs patch'
      - provides linenumbers in the left-hand margin (a la vi)
      - visible tabs/spaces for those that don't like syntax highlights
      - check <http://www.ruptured-duck.com/jed-users/msg00303.html>
        for details
        
    - Juho Snellman's 'CVS frontend'
      - compliments the existing RCS/SCCS modes
      - available at <http://www.iki.fi/jsnell/software/files/cvs.sl>
       
    - your 'paste' function
      - *way too useful* to not include!!!!
