Hmm ... the plot thickens. The main difference between your setup and
mine is that I have a 2.6.9 kernel, and yours is 2.4.26. The 2.6.9
version makes this problem inevitable, but clearly, there are also
things that are part of the newer opera that causes this to fail on
older kernels as well. That's not surprising, given that opera has a
reputation for relying on its own code base and not on many system
libraries.
(P.S. -- could you let me know [off line is fine] where the
7.60P3 opera download can be found? ... thanks)
