Earlier versions mapped 0x??XX to 0xFFXX.  So, 0xFE20 would be
regarded as 0xFF20.  You can use something like:

  #ifeval (_jed_version >= 9917)
  x_set_keysym(0xFE20, '$', Key_Shift_Tab);
     .
     .
  #endif
