Version 2.0.5 fixed a buffer-overflow bug in one of the SLsmg
functions but I doubt that is the problem. If you want to try using
the latest development snapshot of slang, then see
<http://jedsoft.org/slang/download.html> for links to the code.
Incidently, what terminal are you using? I am using rxvt-unicode
(urxvt) because I find xterm's handling of multibyte characters to be
too buggy.
